If in the Photoshop Elements Editor you go to Help>System Info can you paste the contents here on the forum?

I experienced similar problems using Topaz AI, failing to open the files. I then deleted the folder and restored it from a backup, hoping the files would be copied to another sector of the disc, but that didn't work either. So, I sent the Macbook back to the retailer for repair.

If the Photoshop elements editor you create a new file

File>New>Blank File and save it as a jpg to your desktop, are you able tp reopen that file?

Perhaps an Uninstall/reinstall of Photoshop Elements 2024 will fix the issue.

You get the disk error when using File>Open in the photoshop 2024 editor?

Are they a paticular file type like files from a camera or jpgs?

Are the images on an external drive?

Thanks. I get the error regardless, the images are all local on my MacBookPro, mostly jpg's, also PNGs. I can open them without any problems in Affinity Photo or Preview. The files appear to be intact and not corrupted as I can also open them on my other Mac without any problems.

It looks like a problem with the disk. I can open the same image from an external drive, but not the identical image from the local drive. However, I can open the image from the local drive in Affinity but not in Photoshop Elements 24. This is very strange. It could be a hardware problem.

How much free space is on your drive?

Go to Apple>System Settings>General>Storage and at the top it will say how many gbs are used of the total.

I have used 715 GB of 1TB. How does that information help?
