Question

Can't view all my pics

Just opened a folder where I have some recent pics.

Most of them are showing in thumbnail image forms but others just show the  PSE icons.  These are files ending with .psd.  Do I need to change some settings in order to see an actual photo image?  Very difficult as now I have to open each pic in PSE to find the one I am looking for.

Hi Syndon,

I'm having the same problem with my PSE14.  When I locate a .jpg file, the files would always appear as the image I saved,  So when I need to look for a certain pic, I can easily find it.  But, for the last few weeks, the .jpg files have been showing up as a thumbnail of the PSE icon as pictured below.  This makes it very difficult when I'm looking in a folder full of .jpgs and all I see are the blue PSE icons.  When I click on any given PSE icon within one of my photo folders, it opens up just fine displaying the actual photo.  When I save a .jpg, how do I get the actual thumbnail of the actual pic to show up vs the PSE blue icon?  Is it some kind of glitch with the software or is it something I did?

I have WINDOWS 10, am using PSE 14, using Google Chrome, and my pics are saved as jpgs or gifs.

Hi Syndon,

You can import all of these files in Organizer, Import media from files and folders in Elements Organizer

Organizer can show all these file types and you can then open the file of your choice directly to Photoshop Elements Editor directly by selecting the file and clicking on Editor button at bottom, on Action panel.

Thanks,

Arshla

Yes, the Windows Explorer is unable to show psd files without the required codecs.

You would not have the problem if you were using the organizer.
