Cannot deactivate Photoshop Elements 14

I have reistalled Photoshop/Elements onto a new computer and got the message regarding 'the serial number is already in use by the maximum allowed computers'. I get that.

The good news: I have not reset the old computer to factory settings, so was able to start up and access 'Help/Sign Out' to deactivate.

The bad news: Nothing happens! It is not greyed out or anything, just non responsive.

- I have tried deleting/reinstalling the software and there is no change.

- I have looked for activated products and there are none showing.

Any ideas??

Please go to Adobe Customer Service (make sure to sign into your Adobe account first) and only ask to have your activations reset:
https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?rghtup=autoOpen will automatically open the chat window.
Type "Agent" in the chat box to bypass the chatbot and be connected to a person.

You may also be able to contact Adobe by phone:

I had the same issue as defaulthjt8guat4lwe trying to deactivate PSE 14, on a dying computer. As an update on 11-11-2022, I followed Peru Bob's link and instructions and was able to have my activations reset via chat. I was logged into my account at the time. They quickly transferred me to an agent who could help me, and needed my product serial number and operating system and version--so have those handy. They also asked me to retry at the time, so they could make sure it worked. Since my schedule required me to try it later, they sent me a follow-up email to make sure it worked.

contacting Adobe through this means only works if you are subscribed. What about the people who bought the software outright and want to continue using it without a subscription?  I want to deactivate all of the products and start fresh on a new pc and I don't have access to the old workstation that Adobe was previously installed on.

That is not true.

Go to support. They can deactivate your apps for you.

Hi , I've moved your post from the Photoshop forum to the Photoshop Elements forum where you are more likely to get help with your issue.
