Cannot open up float in Window directory

In the window directory in elements 2020 (we have the last OS in Mac-Catalina) are the options to float or float in window (under images). We do not have the option to check these and wonder why they are unavailable.

    Not sure I understand your issue.

    Did you set your preferences to:

    Edit >> Preference >> General >> check the box "Allow floating documents in expert mode"?
