Cannot save file. PSE 2025 says it is locked!

Question

I recently upgraded to Photoshop Elements 2025, running it on my new iMac, OS Sequoia 15.1. Not happy. After editing a file, I am unable to save it, because PSE says it is locked. IT IS NOT. Adobe technical support first told me the only  way I can save the edited file is on the Desktop. Technical support later figured out that if I place the file in the Downloads file, I can save it there. Not an elegant workaround. Apple Care says it is an Adobe probleem.This was not a problem with my previous version of Photoshop Elements and Adobe needs to fix it. Technical support says the problem is due to new technology. Not acceptable. Any other ideas would be appreciated.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
