Catalog Back-ups for Elements Organizer 2018

I have just installed PSE 2018 to replace PSE 11.  When backing up the catalog do I need to delete the existing back-up and do a full back-up or can I simply do an incremental back-up?  thanks.

Each Elements version has its own catalog format, which explains why you have to 'convert' them when upgrading.

When installing PSE2018, you have been prompted to 'convert' the PSE11 catalog. I suppose that's what you did. The old catalog is still there (with a -1 suffix) and continues to work with PSE11. Your PSE11 backups are still valid and available for conversion from newer PSE versions. That means you can restore the PSE11 backups from PSE11 or from PSE2018 (the restore calls the conversion at the end of the process).

I don't know exactly for incremental backups (anyway I would recommend a full backup with PSE11).

The right thing to do now is to create a new full backup of your catalog(s) from PSE2018 and if possible, to keep a PSE11 backup until you are sure you will no longer need it.

Sounds like a good approach.  Thanks!
