Catalog Conversion Issues - missing photos and albums

I just loaded up PSE18 and was converting old albums from PSE 10.  The album in 10 has 20000 photos and 30 albums.  When it converts over I only have 3000 photos and 8 albums.  I know I can just reload the photos, but what about all the albums that are now lost.

Hi,

Did you see any error during the conversion process? Also, do you have your images/catalog stored on a network drive? You can try reconverting the catalog and see if it works fine. Please make sure PSE 10 is not running when you are converting the catalog. Let us know if you face the issue again.

Thanks for responding.

There were no obvious errors during conversion.  None of the images/catalogs are stored on a network drive.  I tried reconverting again, confirming that PSE10 was not running and same problem.  I also tried bringing the catalog into PSE13 with the same results .. 85% of the photos did not come in as well as a majority of the albums.
