Changing computer and moving catalog

Question

I have cancelled the activation of my old computer and have successfully loaded both Elements 2024 and Elements 2026 onto my new computer. I do not have the old computer.

Is it possible to download the catalog, with all the albums and tags that i set up or will I have to labouriously import my images and set up new albums etc

“I do not have the old computer”- that pretty much means no.

You can still use the old catalogues if you made backup copies, and put them on an external hard drive or a USB drive, or even some other online resource such as drop box, or some other cloud storage.

If you changed the location of the images in the catalogues- for example from one hard drive to another, and the drive shows up as a different letter, than what was on the old computer, just start over.

I have multiple drives and partitions (Sub divisions of a HHD / SSD) : c,d,e,f,g,& h drives- I also have 6 or 7 (haha) hard drives sitting in a desk drawer.

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT:

No one, except for yourself, really cares about what’s in your catalogues, people tags, location tags, or any of the meta data found in those catalogues. Ask yourself a couple or three things:

1. Is it worth my time?
2. Do I enjoy doing it?

If you can honestly answer yes to the questions- drive on, do what makes you happy.
