Changing specific shade of midtone

I'm on PSE 15 printing b&w matte. On initial prints a certain shade of dark mid-tone has a slight magenta cast. The rest of the print is OK. How can I select that specific mid-tone or even object in the photo and reduce the magenta cast to a more neutral tone.  Thanks.

    1. Use one of the selection tools, e.g. lasso or selection brush, to select the area that you wish to work on
    2. Place this area on a separate layer (CTRL+J)
    3. Place a Hue/saturation adjustment layer above the layer created in step #2, and clip the adjustment layer to the layer below (CTRL+G). Work the hue/saturation/lightness sliders
    4. If that does not do it for you, set the color chips to default, and try the Gradient map adjustment layer.

I don't know whether or not PSEv.15 has a command for removing color casts. Have a look under Enhance menu>Adjust Colors>Remove color casts.
