Question

Cloning tool leaving circular marks

I use the cloning tool a great deal and have not had this problem before (I have Elements 12 - I think!)

Suddenly, no matter whether I minimise the size or enlarge it, the clone tool is leaving behind complete circular marks where I have used it. I have tried with a blank layer; I have ticked Sample All Areas - but nothing is working.

HELP, please!

Fiona

Try resetting the clone stamp tool to default. In your version of PSE, look for a little triangle on the tool's option bar, top left. Click on this to reset. If the reset button is not  at this locus (I don't have PSEv.12), look for a box with lines in on the option bar, lower right.

If that does not fix it, suggest that you reset preferences via Edit>Preferences>General and reset on next launch.

Thanks for responding so promptly - it is much appreciated.

Unfortunately, I've tried everything you suggested - and I am still

getting the circular marks - and I reset it through Preferences in the end.

    Any ideas?

On the tool's option bar, is Mode set to Normal, and Opacity=100?
