"color range" tool in elements 5?

i have photoshop elements 5 (i know, it's old, but i don't have the money to get something better). i was wondering if there is the "color" range option somewhere? i saw a tutorial on where to find it in 3, and then some versions after 5, and i was like, "... well, it's GOT to be in 5 then, right?" the magic selection tool is not going to do the job for what i'm trying to do.

The way this is achieved is using an action recorded in photoshop and then installing/running the action in pse 3. As far as i know, pse 3 was the only pse version until version 13 through 2020 that one could initiate color range using an action. So unfortunately the color range action does not work in photoshop elements 5.
