Computer locking up

Just downloaded Elements 2021.  Went to Organizer and clicked on Import and Files.  Window came up showing my photo files that are on my hard drive but at the same time locked up my computere.  Have restarted 3 times and retried but locks up everytime.  Have been on hold with techenical assistance for about 2 hours.  Any ideas on how to fix this issue?
