Computer turns off automatically after a few minutes when using Photoshop Elements 2022.

Suddenly my computer has started to turn itself off after using Photoshop Elements 2022 for a few minutes. This happens over and over again. Has never happened before. I am using Windows 11.

The computer works well with all my other programs.

Hope someone has an idea of what is wrong.

In advance, thank you so very much!

Kind regards,

Rune

Correct answer Greg_S.

Are you seeing any unusual behavior before the machine shuts down?  For example, is the window jumping?

Are you receiving any error messages?

Is your computer possibly overheating because the Organizer is performing work in the background, e.g. face recognition or media analysis.

Try going to Edit>Preferences>Media Analysis and uncheck all the boxes.  Does the problem still occur?

And what are the specs of your computer?

@Rune J.21765360z0px, if the computer is not overheating, you may want to replace the checkmarks and leave it on overnight so that face recognition and media analysis can take place while you are not working on the machine.

Hi again,

I think I will go on without these checkmarks, as the computer turns off about a minute after I have replaced the checkmarks, even if I only replace the checkmark for face recognition. However without the checkmarks the computer works fine.

Thank again!

Rune.

Hi,
Thank you so very much for your suggestions!

After having unchecked all the boxes you suggested, the computer works fine and I can carry on working with my photos in Photoshop Elements.

Again, thank you so very much.

Kind regards,
