Confused With Adobe 2018 Upgrade

Hi, I was gifted the Photoshop 2018 for Christmas.  I have been working with Photoshop Elements 10.  In Elements 10 I used the Magic Extractor all the time.  I see this option is not given on the upgrade.  I am very confused going from Elements 10 to 2018.  I would really like for someone to just start me off by telling/showing me what I use in place of the Magic Extractor.  I feel this would give me a good start off point.  I get very very confused with trying to sift through all these videos and forum to find exactly what I am looking for.  I guess it is just the way I need to learn.  Is there anyone out here who is willing to just give me a step by step instruction as to what I use now in place of the Magic Extractor option.  Thank you so much.  My personal email [Removed by moderator]

    Bob,

    Thank you for your response to my question.  However, it really doesn't answer my question.  That are we using now in place of the magic extractor tool for example?  I understand it is missing.  And why is there no CMYK color profile?  I don't claim to thoroughly understand Photoshop, but I did use these things quite often.  I am lost and need help with so many questions.  :-(

    The magic extractor made rough selections by painting with red and blue but it was usually necessary to clean up edges with basic brushes.

    The Quick selection tool is much better, especially when combined with refine edge and refine radius options. See this video tutorial.
