convert catalog PSE14 TO PSE19

I just bought and installed PSE19. When installing, it asked "convert catalog?" and I said yes and it created a new catalog called "My Catalog 5.2".  When I go to "manage catalogs" in "Organizer" it only shows "My Catalog 5 (current)". Why does it continue to use the old file and how do I make it use "My Catalog 5.2".

(I also have a "my catalog 5.1" from my conversion from PSE10 to 14 but it has never been used because I assumed the "my catalog 5 (current)" that showed up was the converted one).

Under "manage catalogs" I can find 5.2 if I use the "custom" button but once I do that I have two choices, 'new' or 'convert'. I certainly don't want to convert again, and it is not clear what will happen if I pick 'new'. Presumably I want to make 5.2 my current/active catalog so please provide guidance on how to do that ?

    What actually happened when you converted your old Catalog 5 to 2019 was that the 2019 conversion process gave the name of the "new" 2019 catalog the same name you were using in the earlier version (Catalog 5). It also renamed the old catalog 5 to 5.2.  (You have already used "5.1" when you did the earlier conversion to Elements 14.)

    If you go back to version 14, it will probably say that it can't find the last used catalog.  You will then have the opportunity in the catalog manager to open the renamed catalog 5.2.

    Each catalog can only be opened by the version it is intended for.  Thus, the new 2019 "catalog 5" can only be opened in 2019.  The old catalog 5 which has been renamed 5.2, can only be opened in 2014 where it was created (or converted).

    In summary, you DO want to use Catalog 5 in 2019.

    You can rename a catalog in the Catalog manager if this makes it easier for you.  I usually name a catalog with the date of its creation or conversion included in the name.

    Thanks for the quick answer. I certainly never would guessed this from anything in the online help from Adobe or anything here in the Forum.
