converting DNG to JPEG

I have read everything I could find on this subject and nothing is working for me.  I decided to try shooting in RAW.  I edited them in PSE.  It only allows me to save the photos as DNG.  Is there any way to convert them to JPEG?  Otherwise, they will not open in "My pictures"

      Proprietary raw files and Adobe raw (DNG) will open in the Camera Raw dialog. You first make adjustments with the sliders e.g. highlights & shadows, whites/blacks clarity etc. Then you send the image into the regular Editor. For jpeg ensure bits/channel is set to 8 bits and then click the “Open Image” button. From the menu choose:

      File >> Save As

      Choose jpeg and save.

      Oh, I just got it.  Even though the image is open, I still have to go in to"open image" to save as a JPEG.   Thanks a bunch.  Guess I won't throw my computer through the window after all.
