Converting MP4 to JPG

I bought a new digital camera for a vacation. When I got home I found the camera had saved all my photos as mp4 instead of jpgs. Is there a way to convert the mp4s to JPGs? I have Adobe Photshop Element 8 and was wondering if there is anyway to convert these. I have tried to open the files but cannot.

MP4s are video files. It looks like you have a whole bunch of videos. This may be better than photos because you'll have a lot more of the moments captured!
