Could not complete the command

This has happened just recently when I went to do a photo merge. I had both photos in my photo bin and went I went to select both of the photos and that is the message that I received. Can someone shed some light on to this as to what I am doing wrong. Thank you

There are a number of problems with similar error messages about the 'text engine', but I have never seen that connected with the Photomerge feature. Generally, it's a bug introduced by Microsoft in a Windows 10 update. The solution is generally to update to the latest Windows 10 "Fall edition" (build 1709). The update is not generalized, you might have to start it manually. Be aware that the update requires 2 to 3 hours with several automatic reboots...
