Could not launch HDUpdater because the file is empty is preventing closure of this programme

Question

I have been trying to get a simple fix for this bug ever since an update caused it.

I cannot close Photo Editor when this message is showing. I have to use Task Manager to end task. Can someone give me a concise fix which works for this problem, Has Adobe fixed it since it was reported a long time ago? Last time I had a problem with Elements, Adobe, without my permision, downloaded a huge file called Adobe Creative Cloud which I finally got rid of. I don't want this to happen again. I am about to scap the programme as Abode doesn't seem to be interested in fixing the issue. Adobe, how about writing an update that gets rid of the bug without me having to go through a covoluted process. Nothing suggested in other replies helps.

There have only been a few users that say they have this problem- that indicates that it's a specific issue, not a "bug".

What do most of the users have in common with this issue? The program is not installed in it's default location.

They also, as you have done, removed Adobe creative cloud.

With other issues installing adobe creative cloud (the desktop app) it cleared up minor things that they were experiencing.

I've got something like 8 CC processes running, on the average- and I don't care about the amount of system memory they use--- it's one of those things that if you start nit piking about all the background processes running all you will end up doing is getting frustrated.

My recommendation: Install PSE in it's default location, and isntall the desktop creative cloud app- and you can forget about. Give it a try and let me know how things turn out.
