crashing program elements 10 on High Sierra

every time i try to save an edited photo in Elements 10 the program crashes and saves an empty file.  this has only happened since upgrading my mac book pro to High Sierra 10.13.2 because of problems using Safari.  has anyone else had that problem?  can it be solved by buying a newer version of elements?  I need to be able to edit the size and quality of photos of my art work and adjust the pixels to the size needed by sites to enter exhibits.  thanks for any help you can give.
