Creating a cloud effect kind of thing

I'm trying to recreate the portal that thanos walks out of in the infinity war trailer to put into my document. However, I know that it wouldn't look too good if I just use a lasso to cut around the portal, so how would I go about creating it?

I downloaded one of the files, but they're brush files instead of abr files. And they don't show up whenever I click on load brush. How do I use them?

The brush files are .abr. Install them directly into the directory where the other .abr files are in Photoshop Elements Editor. I have no clue whether you are on Windows or Mac, which version of Photoshop Elements.

Just so happens I have the "Return to Eden" cloud brush set Hatstead mentioned. They are .abr.

You can download it from my Dropbox  Dropbox - Return to Eden Brushes.abr

Suggest that you post  a representative picture file indicating the effect that you are trying to emulate, as well as unedited material that is to be incorporated into the output.

The portal kind of has a tint of blue and purple on the outside. Sorry for taking so long to reply.
