creating a new catalog

Hello

On my old computer, my wife and I had separate accounts, and we each had a catalog.  On the new computer, for various reasons we've decided we don't need separate accounts, but we do want to keep the two catalogs separate.  Do I just install photoshop elemetns on the new computer, restore on catalog from the backup, and then create a second catalog and restore the other catalog to that?  On the old computer they were both called "main catalogue".

Your only problem will be making sure you don't overwrite one catalog with another.  So, I would recommend renaming the two catalogs to something more personal. 

 

When you restore a backup of each catalog, you do not "import" them into a newly created catalogue.  The catalogue is restored to your computer and you then open each one from the File>Manage Catlogs dialog.
