Crop to custom shape

Further to above, the Cookie cutter tool has a crop shapes library within. Among others, there is a triangular shape - the icon is all black.

You can use one of the selection tools to create a triangle and delete the area outside the triangle, but the actual image file will still be rectangular, either with a transparent or colored background, depending upon how you save the file and what file type.
