Is it possible to update CS3 to run on Mac Monterey? My error message- The developer of this app needs it to work with this version of MacOS.

In that case, it's best to upgrade to photoshop elements 2022 since even though pse 2019 is 64 bit itself some of the componets are still 32 bit.

No it is not since cs3 applications are 32 bit and apple does not allow 32 bit applications to run on Catalina, Big Sur or Monterey.

If you want to stay with adobe you can look at a subscription to creative cloud or if your just interrested in editing photos, possibly photoshop elements might suffice.

I bought this for $99 and never had much of a chance to even learn how to use it. Now it's out of date...sigh.

Yes, mainly for photos.

After 12+ years, CS3 and earlier are officially dead.  Adobe ended the activation-free program.  And all support for CS4 - 6 has ended except for de-activation.

Thecreative cloud plan, which only ocsts me $10.84 a month is an awesome deal.

If you want Adobe product support now, you really must get modern software or subscribe to a paid Creative Cloud Plan.   Your choice.
