How can I customize templates in slideshow? Is there any chance to upload more themes in Elements 2018?

Unfortunately, you can't. However you can change the background within a given theme as shown in the figure below. I also have PRE 2018, and have basically begun using it to produce more complicated slide shows than allowed in PSE 2018.
