Default image size when opening a file

Running Elements 15 here on Windows 10.

Until recently, when I opened an image file in Elements, I was able to see the entire image. Now I have to zoom out 3 times in order to do so.

How can I fix this. I do a lot of cropping and really prefer to see the whole image and then zoom in if needed.

Thanks in advance for your assistance!

Correct answer Greg_S.

The keyboard shortcut is Ctrl+zero (not the letter O).

Photos should open to fit on the screen. Try resetting the preferences file. Go to Edit>Preferences>General tab and click the Reset Preferences on next launch button.

In case you were not aware, you can change the zoom to fit the photo on screen by using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+0.

Thanks, Greg!

I did the reset but it didn't fix my issue. I did see the option to use my scroll wheel for zooming and for now, that saves me the time I was losing, I just would like to know how the setting changed and how to fix it.

Thanks for the keyboard shortcut - I didn't know that one but sadly I am horrible at remembering them. I just gave it a try but it opens the last folder that was accessed.
