If everything was working for you in the past, try resetting the preferences file. Go to Edit>Preferences>General tab and click the Reset Preferences on next launch button.

What OS are you using? Windows 10
Are you trying to remove a file from an Album or delete a file from your catalog? You can put photos in multiple albums. In the past, I could also remove a photo from a particular album by right clicking the photo to bring up the menu then clicking on Remove from Album. But now when I click on Remove from Album, it just shows which is false since the photo is in two albums. This worked flawlessly in the past but has quit in the last 6+ months.
Are you also trying to delete a file from your hard drive? In the past, I could delete a photo From Catalog, it also asked about deleting from Hard Drive too. I only want to delete the photo from the catalog. In the past 6+ months, this too has stopped working, now when I right click on a photo to bring up the menu and click Remove Photo from Catalog, it says Error Deleting Media.

Are you receiving any error messages? If so, please provide a screenshot. I've included the error messages (in text) in my responses to your questions.
