Display camera settings as window

Hi,

I've been trying and trying a way to work this out but haven't been able to.  Is there a way to display the camera settings of the photo, ie f/stop, ISO, focal length?  Understandably all EXIF info would be a bit much but for these simple settings surprised it isn't easier to find.  I know how to view it under file info menu but would like to have this info for the photo that is displayed rather than have to go and check it manually.

I'm surprised the "info" or "properties" ones would have done it but would appear not in the way a lot of other programs display this info by default even.

You gave the reason yourself: there are so many properties that showing just the ones you want would not fit any other users requirements. So, yes, you have to look at the 'File info...' to select your choice.

If you feel you need to see your choice for all your photos (most users don't want that), use the organizer and keep the right  Information panel open.

So it's not possible?  I'm amazed then for a photography program that it doesn't display basic photo details in this way when there are much, much cheaper ones that do.  Oh well

What is good for you is not necessarily for other users. Everybody would like that only the relevant data should show in the interface and that irrelevant ones would be hidden... Hence the number of complaints about the need to hide such and such an item or panel in the inferface, depending on everyones' special needs.

As I said, when I have an interest to browse my library for exif data, I simply use the organizer which is made for that. I leave the right panel set to Information and with the exif section expanded. That is updated each time a new thumbnail is selected, and I get many more exif and metadata details in the displayed panel.
