hello together, i used the search field here, but didnt find an answere for my question

i have a sony a7v with sony lenses, i use PSE2022 with Camera Raw 18.2 included.

In the settings of my sony camera i activated lens distortin to auto, so how can i see in my open raw file or in the settings, that camera raw is correcting this?

i didnt find anything to setup in the settins menue of camera raw.

is it maybe neccessary that i have to buy the PSE2026?

Many thanks for some helt.

Best regards
Jochen

The Photoshop Elements version of Camera doesn’t apply Lens Corrections to lenses without built-in lens profiles from the camera maker, i.e. a Nikon DSLR with say a AF-D 35mm F2 auto focus lens.

As far as the built-in lens profiles, it looks like Glenn is right.

I tested a couple of camera raw photos taken with the sony16-25mm lens and when opening in both Photoshop and Photoshop Elements it does appear Photoshop Elements did apply a lens correction.

Also tested cr 18.2.2 in Photoshop Elements 2023 and got the same results as Photoshop Elents 2026.

thx for this tests Jeff !!!

this would mean it should work with my Photoshop Elements Version 2022 too, because the Camera Raw version here is at my system at 18.2 at the moment.

And when i set the llens-correction in the my Sony A7V camera to “auto” , then i only have to open the raw file and Photoshop Elements automatically correct the distortion, right ?

Your camera lens combo should use a built-in lens correction which i know Camera Raw when it’s installed for a Creative Cloud application like Photoshop reads that built-in lens correction profile.

Not sure if the Camera Raw version for Photoshop Elements reads and uses those built-in lens

    correction profiles.

Which Sony lenses are you using?

    Thx for your help.

    I use the lenses sony16-25mm, 100mm macro, 35mm 1.4

I do not find any options in the camera raw setting for auto-correct ion of the raw files

Photoshop Elements can apply built-in lens distortion corrections when opening RAW files, similar to its counterparts, according to Adobe Community. While it lacks the dedicated "Optics" profile tab found in full Photoshop/Lightroom, it automatically applies lens profile corrections for supported lenses at the conversion level during RAW import.
