Does Eements 2020 support CR3 raw file format from the Canon RP camera?

Hi, I currently run Elements 15 but it does not support Canons new CR3 raw file format from the Canon RP mirrorless camera. Does Elements 2020 support CR3 files?

@Jha28 and @Christian261019275k0a, your Canon EOS R7 requires ACR 14.4 to work. Elements 2020 only updates to ACR 12. However there is a workaround that should allow you to update to the latest ACR 15. Go to this link and follow the instructions closely. If ACR 15 does not work with Elements 2020, I'm pretty sure that ACR 14.5, available on the download page, will. I currently have ACR 14.3 installed with Elements 2020. If I have some time later, I will confirm whether or not it can be updated to ACR 15.

Alternatively, you can use the free Adobe DNG batch converter.

@MelAOlsen, telling us that Elements 2020 will not open your CR3 files gives us insufficient information to help you. What is your camera model? If it is a newer camera, then Elements 2020 may not open them without a workaround. You also say that you have purchased a subscription to Photoshop CC. Do your CR3 files open there?

Hallo, ich verwende auch Elements 2020 und wollte Raw Dateien bearbeiten, aber photoshop Elements 2020 wollte die CR3 Dateien der Canon EOS R7 nicht öffnen. Dach Deinstallation von Elements und geplanter Neuinstallation wurde nichts daraus. Keine Installation per DVD möglich.

I bought a Canon EOS R which uses .cr3 files. I have purchased a subscription to Photoshop, Lightroom, Classic, etc., but I don't like them. I'd like to just get the 2020 version of Elements and go with that instead of what I have. Will the 2020 version of Elements support my new system without converting to .DNG or any other "strings"?

Elements 2020 will not open CR3 files....I've tried everything. I also purchased PS on a monthly basis as well and I don't like it. Hoping Elements will fix this at some point. Very frustrated.

Hi - I have the same problem for the 1Dx Mk3 I think its because you need RAW 12.2 installing and the latest version in Elements 2020 is 12.0 . So have to wait for an update unless Adobe have another solution (apart from using Full PS which has RAW at 12.2
