Question

Drag and drop from outside into 2018 doesn't work

On my previous version of Elements, I could grab a picture off my desktop and drag it into the EXPERT area and there it was! Now I can only bring in the picture if I use file/select. What happened to drag and drop in 2018?

Drag and drop works for me in PSE 2018. Are you dragging onto the application icon or into the workspace?

Hi, thanks. I’m dragging it onto the workspace.

If you are on Windows 10, did you upgrade recently to the 1803 version?

If so, the Microsoft update introduced an annoying bug if you are using the preference to work in 'floating windows'.

Then the image(s) open in a tiny window in the top left corner of your display. You may not have noticed it.

That does not happen if you are not in 'floating windows' mode.

The workaround is to hold the shift key pressed before dragging the image(s).

(For me, dragging into the workspace works as expected, except for the above bug, in which case I use the Ctrl workaround).
