Drop and drag image

Can you drop and drag an image file from a folder right onto the layer you are working on, the same way you can in Photoshop?
You know when you are working in PS you can drag a file over to the psd layer and it will auto resize itself on the layer.
In elements it goes down to the photo bin and then you have to move it up to the layer.

    Unfortunately, photoshop elements doesn't have the drag and drop from the outside of pse to the open document like photoshop does.

    So i guess your way to drag from the photo bin is as good as any other.

    You could use File>Place to avoid having to drag up from the photo bin.

    my photos turn grey when I drag from the photo bin to a template in the workspace

    @leeree22, what OS and version of Elements are you using?

    Can you give us a screenshot of what you are seeing, including the layers panel.  What kind of template are you using?
