Duplicated Thumbnails in Organiser

Following copying files when updating versions of Elements, some of the thumbnails have been duplicated, sometimes 4 times making browsing in Organiser unmanageable. Apart from manually deleting thousands of duplicates, is there a quick way?

Any idea why they might have duplicated in the 1st place please?

Also, if using Mac, did you use Time Machine?

Did you store your library on a NAS?

What OS are you using?  What are the versions that you updated from and to?  When you updated the version, you should have been given the opportunity to convert the catalog to the newer version.  If you did this, there would have been no reason to copy your media files.  So were you also updating/changing your hardware - new computer or hard drive?

 

We need more information to figure out what happened here.
