Edit color in keywords does not work

When I try to edit a keyword or tag and want to change the color, I get a very strange color picker. Basically it has little color at all! Mostly a white and a kinda orange. Should I not see a spectrum or something??

Seems to be true in PSE 15 and PSE 2018.

MacMini running High Sierra, PSE 2018.

almost one year later, and after a couple of reinstalls, I still get the same result. I would appreciate someone answering this again, please. Or at least tell me this is a bug that has not been fixed???

It seems you are clicking on the category icon, not on the 'change color' button to the right of that icon?

OK, does this help? I have clicked the edit selection in the right click menu that comes up and get this

If I click the "Choose Color" box, I get this.

If I try to edit an item that is a "child" under the Category, then there is only the option to select a photo for that entry. Color me a bit confused at this point. I do appreciate the answer.
