Edited exif data in Photoshop Elements 2023 to original files?

I have lots of scanned picturs in Photoshop Elements where the date is set to the moment they were scanned. By means of "Adjust date and time" in Elements I have changed the date to when the picture was originally taken.

Is there a way of updating the exif data in the original files with the edited ones to get a chronologic view in other picture programs?

1 - Writing metadata from the catalog to the file header: Shortcut Ctrl W (write metadata to files)

2 - Updating the catalog from data externally changed in the metadata header of the files: Update thumbnail does also work for updating captions as well as the date_taken.
