Can someone give me a tip to solve my problem:

PSE 2024:

So far, everything has always worked perfectly. Suddenly the problem has arisen that I can start the editor, it is activated, but then blocked. No functions can be activated, and it can no longer be terminated. The organizer works normally. I can't find an explanation for this phenomenon. Even repeated installation could not contribute to the solution.

Try this:

Restore default preferences
Preference settings control how Photoshop Elements Editor displays images, cursors, and transparencies, saves files, uses plug‑ins and scratch disks, and so on. If the application exhibits unexpected behavior, the preferences file could be damaged. You can restore all preferences to their defaults.

Note: Deleting the preferences file is an action that cannot be undone.

Do one of the following:

Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Mac: Option+Command+Shift) immediately after Photoshop Elements begins launching. Click Yes to delete the Adobe Photoshop Elements settings file.
Go to Edit > Preferences (Mac: Photoshop Elements > Preferences > General), click the Reset Preferences on next launch button, and then click OK. When you restart Adobe Photoshop Elements, all preferences are reset to default settings.
A new preferences file is created the next time you start Photoshop Elements Editor. For information on a specific preference option, search for the preference name in Help.

What do you mean when you say the Editor is blocked?

Can you terminate the program from Task Manager?

Der Editor startet auf, wie gewohnt; es lässt sich dann aber keine Funktion ausführen, lässt sich auch nicht mehr schliessen; es scheint, wie wenn er blockiert wäre. Es könnte aber auch sein, dass das Programm weiterarbeitet mit extrem langen Wartezeiten. Übrigens: Bei einem Versuch mit PSE 2026 zeigt sich dasselbe Phänomen.

The editor starts as usual; but then no function can be executed, nor can it be closed; It seems as if he is blocked. But it could also be that the program continues to work with extremely long waiting times. By the way: A trial with PSE 2026 shows the same phenomenon.


Can you terminate the program from Task Manager?
