Editor opens and won't allow editing for over a minute

I have installed Elements 2013 on a brand new top of the line gaming computer.  Organizer loads superfast and Editor is quick too, BUT, it takes over a minute before I can start using it.  Once I can use it, it seems to be fine.  My computer used Windows11.  Does anyone know why this is happening?

Correct answer Greg_S.

Do you have a wi-fi printer?  If so, try setting a different printer - even a PDF printer - as the default printer.

If you are using the Organizer and have a large catalog, the media analysis (face recognition etc.) can take up a lot of resources.  Go to Edit>Preferences>Media Analyis and uncheck all of the boxes, reboot and see if that makes any difference.

Not as far as I know, but you can easily select the correct printer in the Print dialog.

I shall also make sure that Adobe is aware of this problem.

Yes.

Okay, I loaded a generic printer and set it as default.  Went into Adobe Elements Editor and access was instantaneous!!!

Is there anyway to tell Adobe where to find my real printer so that it is not searching for it (assuming that is what is happening)?

Thanks Greg.  I do have a wi-fi printer.  I will try both suggestions.
