Editor workspace not opening in Elements 2018

I installed Elements and Premier Elements 2018 and was able to edit one photo. I can open Organizer and sometimes when I attempt to open the editor I get the message "Loading Photoshop Editor Workspace.." but it does not open.  I have attempted to open from the launcher and Organizer.

Upon searching the forums, the only answer I found was to reinstall it, which I am hesitant to do..it took 24 hours to catalog all the faces in my photos. I do not want to start over after editing only one picture.   If this is a recurring issue and reinstalling is the only fix, I may need to seek a refund and find something more stable.

Your help is welcomed, I would like to understand why this is happening so I can prevent it in the future.

OS: Windows 10 Home 64.
