Elements 10 Serial number issue

I am having a very irritating problem with Elements 10. If I don't use Elements 10 for a few days, I have to re-enter the serial number. Why can't the program save this? Getting old entering the serial number all the time!

How can I set a preference where it does not ask for my Adobe ID because it freezes the program. So irritating and I wonder does Adobe even care about a program that is not on their blessed cloud?

I sure hope someone has figured out a solution!

I tried this recommendation. According to the log file, it found nothing to remove. I reinstalled the program from the software I downloaded from Adobe. I will wait and see how it works. It has been a strange problem because it will be OK for some time and then one day it will ask for the serial number and repeat that process.
