Elements 11 text engine error

The problem was the result of an update in Windows 10 Creator. Depending on the way you install additional fonts, you may get that error. The workaround to re-install the fonts fails when you close Windows. Nothing is changed in Adobe apps... That issue was soon identified and Microsoft promised a solution in the Windows 10 Creator 'Fall' edition. That update is now in the process of being installed and there are reports that the issue is solved. I don't have additional fonts, so I can't check myself.

For those wanting to start the 'Fall' update manually, be aware that it may take three hours and several re-boots.
