Question

Elements 12 won't start

When I try to open my Elements 12 I get a pop-up message asking me to sign in. Once I sign in another pop-up message called "Photoshop Elements 12 Trial" offers me 30 days or "Buy Now."  The message reads: "You can continue to use Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 after your trial period by purchasing the software."  How do I get around this problem because I am already a paid for customer of the Adobe Photoshop Elements 12?

Here's a tip for anybody accessing this thread lately (2023).  My Photoshop Elements 12 app stopped launching.  I'd click on the Editor (versus Organizer) button and nothign would happen.  I don't believe I made any changes, but I may have.  The splash screen would just sit there with the small, built-in progress bar doing its animation thing, but no other progress.  I uninstalled and re-installed the app and this didn't help at all.  I closed the screen, then right-clicked the desktop icon and chose to run as administrator.  Then, once I launched and chose "editor" I got another screen that told me I had to sign into Adobe in order to complete authentication.  I clicked on "sign in," and this fixed it for me.

Maybe the problem is what an Adobe Acrobat tech person did a few days ago.  I was having a similar problem because I was having opened pdf documents shut off and a pop up message asking me to sign back on again.  The tech person took over my computer and did lots of changing of things associated with Adobe in my Task Manager......maybe they screwed up something that controls my Photoshop Elements 12 program.

I tried to do what you said.....Still get the message telling me that I have 29 days left to purchase Elements 12.  I can't find a place to "Sign In" using my Adobe ID & password in Photoshop Elements.  I do have to sign in for Adobe Acrobat and for this forum but not Photoshop.....looks like I am still lost!

Thank you for stepping up to help me.  Before I follow your instructions I want to make sure you understand how I am currently setup.  I have been using Adobe Photoshop Elements for the past 3 years.  It is already installed in my PC.  When I tried to use it the other day a message popped up telling me that I needed to use their 30 day free trial and/or buy it.  If I follow your instructions should I remove the current Adobe Photoshop Elements from my computer?  If I do install it again will a serial number be provided to me after I log in?
