    More info about raw files:

FAQ: Will Photoshop Elements work with my camera, or Why won't my raw files open?

To answer your question, it's necessary to know your Elements version and your camera make and model.

If you don't want to buy the current PSE15 upgrade, you can use the free DNGconverter mentioned in the above faq.

It's an independent programm, not a plugin; it can convert a whole folder of your raw files to the DNG raw format that your current 9.0 ACR module can read and edit.

I have elements 13 and the camera I used was a canon 80d. I'm not ready to upgrade when elements 13 is supposed to edit raw images also. I think this elements should work.

Did you read the answers to your post and the related links?

If you had, you would know that:

    - when a new camera model is issued (like your 80D), it comes with its own raw format. Any older editing software (not only Adobe) can't read and edit the new format.

    - Elements 13 can't be updated to the ACR 9.5 required format. Elements 14 can be upgraded to 9.5 and Elements 15 covers up to 9.10.

    - If you don't wan't to pay the upgrade, you can use the free DNGconverter as explained above. A step more, but a free solution for all old Elements versions. Remember it's a batch conversion. You process a folder full of .CR2 files and get another with DNG files in one operation.

Raw images from which camera make and model?

Each Raw format is unique to each camera model and is supported by a different version of Camera Raw. Different versions of Camera Raw are compatible with different versions of Elements.
