Elements 14 Constatly Freezes

I bought a copy of Elements 14 to replace my Elements 7.

This was a mistake.

Every time I try to download photos from my Canon cameras the "organizer" freezes and I have to go to task manager to close it.

I can then re-open it and the "organizer" works as long as you don't try to do anything with it like when it finds something in my watched folders and freezes up again.

I have deleted the program and re-installed it several times with the same results.

I have tried to send Adobe emails concerning this problem but they are apparently very busy and never reply.

Can anyone help me with this problem?

If not can you recommend a photo program?
