Elements 14 - Font size won't change

Periodically, I cannot get the font size to change when I type in a value.  And if I click on preset values, it says it changes (as in it will stay on the value 72 for example) but the font size in my project does not actually change.  I can only change it by clicking on the corner of the text box and moving it manually.  I need specific sizes, and it's difficult/impossible to do it that way.  Usually when I have this problem, I can restart the program or computer and it'll start working again.  I've tried both this time and it still won't change the size.  Please help!!!!
