Elements 15

How do I delete or clear the recently edited files without resorting to deleting all my presets of default settings.

Does the latest version allow me to perform this task. I don't want to upgrade if this issue is not resolved.

Thanks for your help.

This is an elder discussion dealing with this issue:

PSE 15: Recently opened files problem: remedy

The main info from this discussion is:

"The Open Recently Edited Files list will not update any longer after reaching 100. This is a well known problem.

    The workaround is easy:

    Step 1: Open c:\Users\your name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\15.0\Editor\*.*

(remark: this procedure has been used for Windows 8.1 and also with setting "show hidden files")

    Step 2: Delete the files „Adobe Photoshop Elements 15 Prefs.psp“ and „MachinePrefs.psp“

    Step 3: Create a subfolder „Old prefs“

Step 4: Restart PSE 15, open an image file, and apply all your preferred settings

Step 5: Close PSE 15 and open again the Editor folder (see Step 1)

Step 6: Copy the newly created two files „***Prefs.psp“ (see Step 2) into the subfolder „Old prefs“

    That's all.

If now your list Recently Edited Files will again stop updating after 100 files:

Open the Editor folder (see Step1) and copy the two files from the subfolder „Old prefs“ into the Editor folder

You now can continue with a resetted Recently Edited Files list. This procedure looks more complicated than it really is. After the second time it's very easy.

Remark: This PSE 15 bug has been mentioned several times before and the remedy has been suggested as well. This post is intended to supply a solution without scrolling through - partly - lengthy discussions."

Bottom line: after recreating your preferred settings just once you will have a personal starting point with all your settings already applied.

    Hope it helps.
