Elements 15 facial recognition issues

I just switched from Picasa to Elements 15, and so far, the Picasa facial identification system seems far superior.  I have been tagging faces for approximately two days now, and have tagged about 1600 photos (about 60 people), and the "named" faces page doesn't seem to learn a face, even though in some cases I have tagged several hundred images of the same person. I have about 9000 photos, with perhaps between 15 to 20 thousand faces that need to be tagged.  There must be something I'm doing wrong (I've already stopped and started the "auto-detect" with no perceivable difference).  Is there something I can do that will improve the "unnamed" recognition of people that I have already "named"? At this rate, it will be months before the "unnamed" people are all tagged!
