Elements 15 Mac hourglass thumbnails on 5K Retina display - RESOLVED

For months I have been plagued with an issue with organiser in Elements 15 Mac and also Elements 2018 Mac where double clicking on a thumbnail results in an hourglass on grey background rather than opening up the image in a new (larger) window. Adobe CS and the forum had no answers. I even returned Elements 2018 for a refund as it was still a problem that I thought wold have been fixed.

However, Today I have found a solution that works in Elements 15 Mac!!

If you have this issue here's the fix.

In Organiser select Color Settings in the Edit menu.

If like. mine the Always optimise colours for computer screens is selected by default deselect it by clicking no color management

Close the dialog.

Double click on a thumbnail and (hopefully) the image will now open as it should and no hourglass is displayed.

You can go back into the color settings menu and reselect optimise for computer screens and it should all still work.

This worked for me anyway
