Elements 15 Organiser has vanished

I have been a user of Photoshop Elements since first launch. I am now using Elements 15 with Windows 10. For several recent versions I have checked the welcome screen to open in editor mode and not used organiser. I now need to perform radical organisation but when I attempt to load organiser by clicking on the organiser button at the bottom on the workspace sceen (in expert mode) the mesage "loadin organiser workspace" appears with the rotating busry icon. After about 30 secs ths message disappears and that 's it. No error messages or what have you.

I began to think that maybe installation of the latest version had prented me with the option to not install orgabniser. Accordingly I completely uninstalled PE 15 and reinstalled, noting that there was no option to skip organiser. The reinstallation was succesful but on launch from the shortcut I went straight into editor with no welcome screen. Going to 'help' in the ddit screen there is an option labelled ;welcome screen' I clicked this, eas shown the welcome screen, clicked on organiser, saw the same 'busy' indication but nothing further happens.

I have always believed that orgabiser is an integral part of the PE install package. If so, where has it gone. Google searches for the problem have yielded zilch. Maybe one of the forum members can (gently) tell me what I am doing (or have done) incorrectly?

The Welcome Screen includes options on whether to launch Elements Editor, Organizer, or the Welcome Screen

    • Click the settings button (gear icon) in the upper-right corner of the Welcome Screen.
    • Choose one of the following options:
    • Welcome Screen
    • Organizer
    • Photo Editor

Now, if Organizer does not launch, please try out following instructions:

    1. Launch Elements Organizer while keeping the Shift key pressed to open the Catalog Manager.
    2. In the Catalog Manager dialog, click New to create a catalog. Provide a name for the catalog, and then click OK.
    3. Launch the Preferences dialog (Ctrl/Cmd + K).
    4. In the Preferences dialog:
      • In the Media Analysis tab, deselect all checkboxes.
      • In the Files tab, deselect the checkboxes:
--Automatically Search for and Reconnect Missing Files
--Automatically Generate Thumbnails for Video Files
    5. Start Elements Organizer.
    6. If Organizer launches without any issues, switch back to your older catalog.

    Thanks,

    Thanks for this.

I accessed the welcome screen from the editor 'help' drop down menu.

I clicked on settings and changed the option on launch to organiser.

I then closed the PE application and attemted to reopen using my desktop shortcut. Nothing happened.

I opened Windows explorer, found the .exe file and clicked to open. Somehow this opened in editor mode and I was able to restore the welcome screen setting to open in editor mode.

    This restored the shortcut function.

This may sound daft but I don't think organiser (or at least the path to it} is on my PC!

Can you tell me what to look for in the fie structure that van confirm or disprove this?

I can't fing 'Catalog Manager' anywhere.

Drill down in Windows Explorer, or whatever it is called in WIN 10, to this. Both Editor & Organizer should show up. Right click on each to produce an icon on the desktop and try to open.
