Elements 15 Organizer interface with Premier Elements

I used Windows to copy several photos, most of which were already in the Organizer, into a resource folder to keep them in a central location.  I used Premier Elements to create a few short videos and filed them in a folder separate from my "Watch Folder".  I also created a fairly long video with some music clips and filed it in a separate folder.  I imported all the resources for these projects into Premier Elements from those separate folders on my computer...none of these resource folders were in or a part of my "Watch Folder".  While reviewing the Organizer, I found these Premier Elements imported resources, including the music clips,  had been added to the Organizer even though I had only imported them into Premier Elements.  This resulted in the duplication of a few hundred photos that I had to manually "Delete From the Organizer".  I would like to avoid this problem in the future.  How can I stop Premiere Elements from adding photos/music to the Organizer?  Thank you.

I don't know of any way to prevent PRE project assets from being added to the Organizer catalog.

I would suggest that you put your project resource assets into an Organizer Album or tag them with a keyword tag.  That way, it is easy to gather your resources for use in a project in PRE.  The actual media assets are not touched by your video editing and you avoid the need to create duplicate files on your hard drive.  This also avoids having duplicate files in the Organizer.

Thank you for the reply. I just reviewed the Album/Keyword section in the Organizer manual (I had overlooked that section before) and  your suggestion would solve the duplicate photos problem.  Some of my Premier projects are family history related and I usually give the recipient a digital copy of all the photos I used in the project.  Is it possible to export/copy the photos in the album in total to a disc or memory stick so the recipient could review them individually or perhaps print copies if they wanted to?
