Elements 15 Organizer not writing metadata consistently to files

I have tried adding metadata to files with Elements 15 Organizer. The results are not good. Very inconsistent.

I am a professional Photo Organizer. Adding metadata to files is essential so that I can deliver a keyworded collection to a client. Elements 15 is NOT doing what I purchased it for!

Is there a solution?

I first contacted support for this on about 9 days ago. I did an online chat and was 'on hold' for about an hour before getting disconnected somehow.

I did an online chat the next day and was passed from person to person for about an hour. I was then told someone would call me. Nobody called. I logged in to my account another day later and wrote about my issue there. I have had no response for 8 days! I called support today and they said I need to do what I am doing now: post in the support forum.

Example 1:

I did a test of the Facial Recognition feature. I identified one of my daughters.

I tagged her 420 times. After saving the metadata to file, only 145 files had the keyword attached! I selected all the photos, then File > Save Metadata to File.

Metadata is also supposed to be saved when an export is done. Exporting also produced inconsistent results. The keyword was attached to only some files, and not the same files as when I did ‘save metadata to file’! I looked online and saw many posts and discussions about this being a known issue.

Example 2:

I used the ‘Events’ function in Organizer. The keywords are only being saved to some of the files. It also seems to be random. I used 2 methods: ‘Save metadata to file’ and ‘Export’. With both methods, only some tags were written to file, and were written to different files with the 2 methods!

Here are several links on Adobe support with the same metadata issue, and none of these cases is ‘solved’.

Is there a solution?

Perhaps this huge problem has been solved with Elements 2018? I hope so!

Please solve this problem or upgrade me to Element 2018 - hopefully that will work!

Correct answer MegMac

After over 2 weeks of messages and calls with Adobe, I did a screen share with support and I was able to prove to them that it is absolutely not working. They conceded that it was not working.

I reached an agreement with Adobe (I think the exact arrangement I should keep private) and I am now using Elements 2018.

I too upgraded to PSE2018 for the full price. Wish now that I had made that phone call to Customer Support. In the few days that I have had PSE2018 it has written the tags to the appropriate files (when checked by other programs).

I contacted Adobe support about this issue on about Jan 29th. After waiting 9 days without a response, I called and spoke to an Adobe agent on Feb 7th. He assured me that the best place to find an answer to my issue was to post on forums.adobe.com

I started this topic as soon as I got off the phone with support. It has been 48 hours and not one person has posted any helpful information or solution.

I downloaded a trial version of Elements 2018.

I am please to report that the problem is solved in Elements 2018! The tasks I need done are done correctly. The metadata is written correctly to all the files.

Since I have received NO HELP form Adobe, I am asking for an upgrade to Elements 2018 because that would solve the problem.

I have the same problem in PSE15. As stated in other postings, a main reason for using this suite of programs is to apply TAGs to our photographic products. When Adobe doesn't respond to our complaints it cheapens Adobe's reputation. When Adobe doesn't fix the problem it forces us to look at alternatives. This problem has not been solved, as far as I can determine, as of 3/14/2018 and has been around for several years! That is just all kinds of wrong!
